Master P Sells His Soul in Personal Injury Firm's Commercial

When Master P said (repeatedly), "Make 'em say uh!," we doubt he was thinking of opposing counsel and insurance companies. Yet, more than a decade after he coined the catchphrase, the No Limit Records founder, multi-platinum rapper, and savvy businessman is backing the most unlikely of ventures: a personal injury firm in Kentucky.

This is, to quote Lloyd Banks, "uglier than the Master P sneaker."

Somebody's 'Got The Hook Up '

The Winton & Hiestand commercial is hard to watch. It is unremarkable in every single way, except for the fact that Master P is doing the voiceover. And to be honest, we doubt most folks in the Louisville, Kentucky, area would recognize the voice of the New Orleans-born, Oakland-raised rapper.

And yet, there he is. And his "Make 'em say uh!" catchphrase is plastered on billboards all over town, reports above the law.

It makes you wonder: How desperate is Master P? Multiple websites (including Wikipedia, of course) say that Forbes listed his net worth of around $350 million just last year, though that number is nowhere to be found on It wouldn't be too far out of the realm of possibility, however, as he was even more shameless about slapping his name and record label (No Limit) on everything, from the aforementioned ugly sneakers to a sports management firm (which represented the NBA's Paul Pierce and the NFL's Ricky Williams) to a phone sex company.

Even if the estimates of his wealth were greatly exaggerated, you've got to wonder how this law firm managed to get the rapper to do a commercial for them -- it can't be the budget, otherwise they'd probably have a better website.

Which Rapper Is Next?

This got us wondering: Which other rappers might be interested in appearing in law firm ads? When it comes to shameless exploitation of one's own brand, the Wu-Tang Clan immediately comes to mind -- action figures, clothes, a cartoon, comic books, and of course, rap music were all part of that group's portfolio.

And think about the fun we could have with Ghostface Killah: from talking about the firm's "Supreme Clientele" to discussing "12 Reasons to Die [With an Estate Plan]" with potential clients.
