Ex-NFL Cheerleader, 47, Charged With Rape of Boy, 15

By Daniel Taylor, Esq. on November 05, 2014 | Last updated on March 21, 2019

A former cheerleader for the Baltimore Ravens has been arrested and charged with the rape of a 15-year-old boy.

Molly Shattuck, 47, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy who attended the same Maryland school as one of her three children, ABC News reports. According to police, the relationship between Shattuck and the boy began in Maryland, but Shattuck is being charged in Delaware where the more serious allegations took place.

Who is Molly Shattuck and what kind of criminal penalties is she now facing for her alleged sexual crimes?

Oldest NFL Cheerleader

When she was added to the Baltimore Ravens' cheerleading roster in 2005, Shattuck became the oldest cheerleader in NFL history at 38. She was a member of the cheer squad for two years and worked as a coach for several more years. She was also, until recently, married to millionaire Mayo Shattuck, the former CEO of Constellation Energy and a member of the board of directors at Gap and Capital One.

According to police, Shattuck made contact with the victim via Instagram in May, four months before her divorce. The boy, who attended the same school as Shattuck's 15-year-old son, told police that Shattuck began picking the boy up from school and driving him to a nearby parking lot where the two would "make out," reports The Baltimore Sun.

During a Labor Day weekend trip to a Delaware vacation home rented by Shattuck, the boy reported that Shattuck bought alcohol for him and other teenagers. The victim alleges that Shattuck then performed oral sex on him, once outside and once in Shattuck's bedroom. Shattuck reportedly offered to have sex with the boy, but he told police that he declined.

Third-Degree Rape Alleged

Shattuck is charged with two counts of third-degree rape. Under Delaware law, a person who engages in sexual intercourse with a victim under the age of 16 who is at least 10 years older than the victim commits third-degree rape. As a Class B felony, third-degree rape is punishable by up to 25 years in prison.

In addition, Shattuck was also charged with four counts of unlawful sexual contact and three counts of providing alcohol to minors. Shattuck's attorney told the AP that his client had no comment about the charges.

Shattuck was released on $84,000 bond and is due back in court December 15.
