We've known robots would take over the law for some time. Two years ago, they were already taking 23 percent of lawyer jobs.
Now smart programs can do all kinds of legal tasks, including discovery, research, and court filings. If you haven't been assimilated, there's still time to save your law practice by adapting.
The latest technology has been wowing people at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Continental AG's robo-delivery service stole the show last week.
In concept, an autonomous vehicle pulls up to a curb to deliver a package. A robotic creature gets out, and walks to the customer's destination.
Future Tech
So a robot could serve legal documents. It's mostly a matter of time and money.
The Continental system is not on the market yet, but companies like Amazon are already delivering packages by drone. They haven't reached the mainstream, but the future is coming fast.
Robo dog may have to wait a little longer to effect service of process, however. The technology will be ready, the courts probably not.
