Court Days Pro Rules-Based Legal Calendaring App Now Available

By Stephanie Rabiner, Esq. | Last updated on

There's an app for that. Or at least now there is.

Court Days Pro is the newest app in the field of iPhone legal technology, and as the first rules-based legal calendaring app, its goal is to make calendaring an easier part of every attorney's professional life.

The only question remaining is whether or not you need it.

The first step in using Court Days Pro is inputting court rules and holidays for relevant trial and appellate-related events. This has to be done for every single court rule that dictates when an event takes place or a document must be filed. Unless, of course, you practice in California.

After you're done with the initial step, you can select a triggering event, such as when a notice of judgment is filed. The program will then calculate all subsequent dates--deadlines for post-judgment motions and appeals.

By all accounts, Court Days Pro does what it's supposed to do, even if the initial step is a bit tedious. But do you really need it?

If you do the majority of your calendaring on your iPhone and then sync it to your computer, then the time and calculations it may save you might be worth the expenditure.

But if you calendar on your computer and then sync it to your iPhone, then you probably already have a perfectly adequate program (or person) who makes these calculations for you.

Court Days Pro is really an app for those attorneys who live and die by their iPhone.
