Google Voice App Can Transcribe a Solo Attorney's Voicemail
Attorneys often field dozens of phone calls a day -- but some days are busier than others. There may be times where all you seem to do is run in and out of the office -- and the courthouse.
That's why your voicemail becomes so important. It can be the difference between a new client or a missed or lost client.
If you are an attorney looking for a voicemail alternative, you may want to try the Google Voice app.
Google Voice transcribes your messages.
The Google Voice app is relatively easy. The end result is also quite useful. The app takes messages like your native voicemail system would. It then transcribes the messages.
This can be particularly useful in situations where you get a message but are unable to listen to the message. Maybe you are in the middle of a meeting, or sitting in the courtroom. Instead of having to listen to the voicemail you could read the transcription. One caveat: the transcription is far from perfect. For some individuals, the program transcribes the messages quite accurately. For others, it's a complete miss.
Your voicemails are stored online -- and you can listen to them on your computer.
Once you set up your Google Voice account, it becomes tied to your Google account. If you direct your browser to the Google Voice page, you can easily access all your stored messages. You can even search through your messages, email them, download them, or edit the transcription.
Three words: free text messages.
If you set up a Google Voice number, you can use the app to send text messages -- for free. Others can also text you at no cost through your Google number. All in all, it's a low-cost way to keep in touch.
Overall, the Google Voice app is worth a try if you aren't already satisfied with your current voicemail system.
