Welcome to the FindLaw section on Alaska's gambling and lottery laws. A significant number of states have implemented statewide lotteries -- games of chance with cash prizes -- in an effort to raise revenue, often for specific purposes such as education funding. While Alaska has not done so, the state reserves the right to allow municipalities the ability to conduct fundraising activities such as games of bingo, raffles, pull-tab games, fishing competitions, dogsled races, and even classic lotteries upon request. And while Alaska generally does not allow slot machines or other types of casinos, gambling is allowed on Native American reservations. Click on a link below to learn more.
