Top 3 Cool Legal Jobs This Week: Jocks vs. Nerds
It's Friday, which means you've just about made it to the weekend. Congrats! Now, why don't you see if you can make it to a better job? And better jobs are out there -- and some of them are even pretty cool.

For the sports-inclined attorneys, these jobs will bring you out on the court with top basketball stars. For those of us who chose studying over athletics, the rest of the jobs will bring you back to college, though thankfully not as a student.
1. It's the NBA: Associate Counsel, National Basketball Association
They don't really get much cooler than this. The NBA is looking for a lawyer to join their team. Sure, they don't care about your jump shot or your undying loyalty to the Sixers. But, hey, it probably won't hurt if you've got all the other qualifications.
The NBA is looking for a lawyer with transactional experience with an emphasis on M&A transactions and "negotiating and drafting complex acquisitions agreements for startup and growth equity investments." If that sounds like you, this job could be a slam dunk.
2. Back to School: Assistant General Counsel, New Mexico State University
More of a bookworm than a basketball fan? Maybe going back to school is for you -- as in-house counsel at New Mexico State. The university is looking for an assistant GC to join them in the Land of Enchantment (and the outskirts of Las Cruces). If you enroll, your tasks will be wide ranging: counseling administrators on legal strategies and solutions; reviewing contracts, legal documents, and school policies; and creating transactional documents.
3. The Student Becomes the Teacher: Professor of Law, St. Mary's University
After at least seven years of higher education, you know how this stuff works. Now, you can take your turn at the front of the lectern, instead in the classroom seats. St. Mary's in San Antonio, Texas is looking for an assistant, associate, or full professor of law, where you'd work as director of the legal research and writing program. Sure, legal writing isn't a sexy subject like Con Law or Space Law, but it is a tenure track position. And tenure is like the NBA championship ring of academia.
