Top 3 Cool Legal Jobs This Week: Let's Get Political
Are you a Bernie Bro? A Hillary Hugger? A Trumpeteer? If this election season has fired up your passion for civic engagement, you can turn that electioneering spirit into a successful career. So take a second to cool it with the Facebook posts and start updating your resume instead.
This week, as part of our affiliate program with Indeed, we're bringing you the three coolest politically-related jobs we could find.
1. Rule of Law Advisor, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe
Alright, it's not the same as stumping for your favorite candidate, but no political system can function well without a solid commitment to the rule of law. As a rule of law advisor, you'd work in European nations to help advance the administration of justice. That involves training judges, prosecutors, and police, as well as monitoring the legal system and "suggesting systemic changes."
This might be the coolest cool job we've found so far, but you'll have to travel for it. The position will be located in either Albania, Estonia, or Kosovo.
2. Executive Director, ACLU of Vermont
Few organizations have had as much of an impact on American law and politics as the American Civil Liberties Union. Now, you can follow in the footsteps of former ACLU alumni like Felix Frankfurter, Clarence Darrow, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The ACLU of Vermont is currently looking for someone to take the reins, managing its day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.
If you're yearning to make an impact, the ACLU of Vermont is it. They're specifically looking for a leader with strong vision, ready to grow the organization.
3. Associate Counsel, Gallup
If you're obsessed with election predictions, you could soon be watching the polls up close. Gallup, one of the nation's leading polling companies (though they do more than just opinion polls) is looking for an associate counsel for its in-house legal department. There, you'll be working on labor and employment law, corporate compliance, IP and litigation, advising in-house teams on sensitive legal issues.
Best of all, this is an entry-level position. So, if you've got a J.D. and have been admitted to the bar, go ahead and send an application Gallup's way.
