49ers Bathroom Brawl Caught on Video: 2 Arrested, 2 Hospitalized
A bathroom brawl between San Francisco 49ers fans at the team's new stadium this past Sunday sent two fans to the hospital and two others to the county jail.
The melee involving four men wearing 49ers apparel was captured on camera by a bystander whose relative later uploaded the video to YouTube, reports the San Jose Mercury News.
What was the spark that ignited the Levi's Stadium brawl? According to the man who uploaded the video, the fight began when one man cut in front of another in line for a bathroom stall.
1 Victim in Serious Condition
In the video of the incident posted on YouTube, a man in a Frank Gore jersey -- whom police later identified as 27-year-old Amador Rebollero -- is seen throwing punches at another man in a Colin Kaepernick jersey inside a bathroom on the 300 level of Levi's Stadium.
The man in the Kaepernick jersey falls to the ground unconscious, while Amador Rebollero and 34-year-old Dario Rebollero attack another man as he covers his head on the ground. Both victims were taken to the hospital; the fan who was knocked unconscious remains in serious condition.
Video of the brawl has since been removed from YouTube "as a violation of Youtube's policy on shocking and disgusting content."
2 Suspects Booked on Felony Assault Charges
Amador and Dario Rebollero, both of Tulare County, were located by police shortly after the incident and arrested for felony assault.
Assault is often used in reference to two separate crimes, assault and battery. An assault is committed when a person intentionally places another person in fear of an immediate harmful or offensive contact, while battery is actually making an intentional harmful or offensive contact. In California, a battery resulting in serious injury can be charged as a felony punishable by up to four years of imprisonment.
As in previous incidents, the video of the fight may be used as evidence in a criminal proceeding against the suspects.
