Block on Trump's Asylum Ban Upheld by Supreme Court
Fred Davis has no legal training. Nor does the alleged pimp who sued him.
Yet both are representing themselves in this strange lawsuit that involves fights in clubs, player balls, and hilarious exchanges before a judge.
Fred Davis is accused of throwing a drink on a woman's head and then assaulting and threatening to kill her, reports the Washingtonian. Davis says the woman, Makini Chaka, made it all up because she's mad at Davis for not picking her up at an airport. Additionally, Davis says Chaka is a pimp who runs a whorehouse that sets up athletes and rappers with prostitutes.
Filing the Fred Davis lawsuit, Chaka is seeking a permanent stay-away order as well as monetary damages for the alleged assault. She claims that she ran into Davis at the Josephine Nightclub in D.C. The two have a history including the above-mentioned missed airport ride and Chaka claims that she was having fun when Davis grabbed her wrist and starts yelling at her, reports the Washingtonian. That's when Chaka threw a drink at Davis' face, prompting Davis to retaliate by threatening to kill her and throwing a glass at Chaka's head.
In their trial, Davis decided to forego hiring a high-priced attorney and is representing himself. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, as his defense seems to be based around the claims that Chaka is just a pimp. Though he did call Chaka's claims "made up and flagellant." Having just signed an extension, Davis could have found a good lawyer by going here.
Makini Chaka isn't doing much better representing herself. She even tried to introduce the judge as a witness to determine if her hands were on Davis' genitals in a picture. The judge told her that witnesses answer such questions, not judges. The Fred Davis lawsuit will continue for some time, hopefully with more hilarity, as the trial is not scheduled to begin until March next year.
