5 Totally Useless Gifts for a Tech-Savvy Lawyer's Office
By now, you've read many of our gift guides, including the Black Friday tech gift guide and the plain old lawyer gift guide. All of those gifts were actual gifts, with real utility. Don't you ever want to get someone something that's completely useless?
Well, fear not. We scoured the Internet looking for five gifts for the tech-savvy lawyer that are just completely useless. (OK, some of them have utility, but are otherwise really silly-looking.)
1. LED Binary Clock.
Clocks are built into everything these days, from your phone to your computer. Did you know they're even building one into an Apple Watch? Anyway, if the lawyer in your life has clocks that are easy to read, consider one that's incredibly difficult to read. To wit, the LED binary clock, which represents the time with a bunch of LEDs that are either on or off, depending on ... you know, binary.
2. Instagram Feed Photo Frame.
You have Instagram, which makes you as cool as former President George W. Bush, but you have to go into your phone every time you want to see pictures of other people's breakfasts! Not to worry: The Instagram photo feed frame displays a stream of your Instagram photos, so you can see the duck face any time of day.
3. Steering Wheel Laptop Desk*.
If you're like me, you've got a long commute every morning, and those are precious billable hours. Cut down on the stress about billables while you increase the chance of harm to everyone around you with this desk that allows you to work on your laptop while driving!
* Note: Do not buy this. It appears to be very dangerous if you use it in traffic. And honestly, you're just going to play tower defense games, anyway.
4. Retro Cell Phone Handset.
This one I can see being marginally useful. I grew up with "regular" telephone handsets, so I'm still not entirely comfortable sticking a candy bar up to my ear to talk. This handset, which you can also find in a cordless, Bluetooth edition, takes you back to a simpler time when people didn't always expect you to answer the phone right away.
5. Scrolling LED Sign.
Let's be real here. There is no reason to have a sign like this in your office, which makes it perfect for this list. What could you possibly put on a scrolling LED sign that would make you more marketable as an attorney? Plus, you can't even fit the advertising disclaimer on there. But, on the other hand: scrolling LED sign! Awesome!
