ATT Offers Free MicroCell Signal Booster
Do you use your iPhone a lot? Do you have AT&T? Do you get a lot of dropped calls?
If you answered yes to these questions, AT&T is running an offer that you will definitely want to look out for. For select customers, they are offering the AT&T 3G MicroCell signal booster, which is designed to act like a mini cell tower.
According to the manufacturer the device provides:
- Up to 5-bar coverage
- Enhanced coverage indoors, including improved voice and data coverage with 40 feet of the device.
- Support for up to four voice and data users simultaneously.
At first, many of us were skeptical that the MicroCell, device would come with a catch, such as renewing your wireless contract for another year. However, it turns out that in this case, the fine print is very reasonable. You get the $199.99 device for free, with a 12-month agreement that you will either return the signal booster to AT&T or purchase it at a prorated cost if you terminate your service within 12 months. This is a separate contract from your wireless agreement and does not impact upgrade eligibility or the end of your contract term.
If you have complained to AT&T about your coverage or have used their application to report dropped calls, you are likely to be contacted by AT&T regarding this offer. It's something to consider if you haven't already decided to switch to Verizon. Customers report already beginning to receive letters with offer codes in the mail. If you have difficulty with service at your home or office but haven't received an offer in the mail, it's probably wise to call AT&T and give them a little nudge.
