Block on Trump's Asylum Ban Upheld by Supreme Court
You know when someone says, 'How do you like my new hairstyle?'
It's usually an awkward moment, right? Even if you say,"oh, I love it," people know when it's not working.
That might be the response when Outlook rolls out its new redesign. It's going to take some getting used to.
Microsoft is changing the look on both Windows and Mac platforms. Some say it's "beautiful," but others not so much.
"Compared to some other mail applications, Outlook has a tendency to expose a lot of features right up front, which can make the interface seem cluttered to some sensibilities," Sameul Axon writes for Ars Technica.
He said the Mac overhaul is bigger than the Windows variation. At a recent presentation, Microsoft acknowledged that Mac users have complained about Outlook not following common Mac software design principles.
The redesign addresses some of those issues. For example, it features a "swipe-on-the-touchpad-to-archive-an-e-mail," which is prominent on many third-party Mac apps. Other changes include an overhauled calendar interface and support for saving email to OneNote.
Basically, the new look is different for each platform. Microsoft is not trying to make the Windows and Mac versions look the same.
No matter what the new Outlook looks like, it's good to know the interface is getting refreshed. It is the de-factor email and scheduling suite at law firms across the country.
It already has more features that most users employ. But you can't get too much of a good thing, like hairstyles, right?
