Examples of cases that are filed here include auto negligence cases, medical malpractice cases, discrimination cases, products liability cases, as well as a variety of other suits in which money damages are sought.
Special Civil Part: This court handles landlord tenant matters, civil claims for money damages between $3,001- $15,000 including contract cases, motor vehicle accident cases, damage or loss of property cases, non-payment for work performed, and small claims (up to $3,000).

Equitable relief usually involves the court compelling or restricting actions of one of the parties (such as labor injunctions, foreclosures, dissolution of a corporation or partnership, execution of wills and distribution of estates).
The Probate courts hear cases involving the following matters: execution of wills, distribution of estates, guardianship proceedings involving protection of infants or persons with mental incompetence, completion of gifts according to the donor’s intent.
