How many of you wish you could knock out some of those required continuing education credits with a little blog reading?
Well you can't, so deal with it.
Or, at the very least, be wise with your time and only read the ones that everyone else does.
Seriously--you already permitted law school and law firm rankings to dictate your career path, so why not let visitor numbers dictate what you read?
The Law Professor Blogs Network decided to get in on the ranking game and tell its readers which blogs had the most page views and visitors during 2010. And because you need to be able to refer to well-known legal scholars by name and post topic, here's a little rundown.
Not so surprisingly, The Volokh Conspiracy is at the top of the list even if no one knows how to pronounce its name. Althouse then follows at a close second, the only female professor in the Top 10.
Hugh Hewitt came in third. Do you know who he is?
One of Brian Leiter's two blogs came in fifth, but he probably gamed the system. After all, he spends most of his time analyzing rankings that we're not supposed to care about.
And more predictably, Legal Profession Blog and Legal Ethics Forum were at the bottom of the list, only being beat out by CrimProf Blog.
What should you take from this?
- You should check out Hugh Hewitt, but pay attention to Volokh.
- Hit up Althouse for a bit of female perspective.
- Lawyers may just care more about rankings than Leiter does.
- Some of that rankings fascination should be redirected to legal ethics.
