Top 3 Cool Legal Jobs This Week: The NBA, the Hyperloop, and a Side of Fries
What could be cooler than riding the Hyperloop, the pneumatic tube transit system promising to zip us around at airline speeds? Doing so with a Frosty and a side of fries. Or maybe working for the NBA. We'll let you decide.
We've got a motley crew of listings for this week's top coolest jobs, presented as part of our affiliate relationship with Indeed, but they share one thing in common: they are all pretty dang cool.
1. Junior Commercial Counsel, Hyperloop One
The Hyperloop is a transit system proposed by Elon Musk that would work by whipping levitated trains through vacuum tubes. With the Hyperloop, one could travel from San Francisco to L.A. at speeds averaging 600 mph. The whole trip would take just over half an hour.
If the concept sounds farfetched, well, there are some true believers out there. Namely, Hyperloop One, the main company looking to commercialize Hyperloop technology. Ad they need a new lawyer for their team. The company is looking for junior commercial counsel, someone who can handle project financing, regulatory affairs, and joint ventures, all while working to "revolutionize transportation and transform cities".
2. Associate Counsel, NBA
If the Hyperloop doesn't impress you, the NBA certainly will. The NBA, of course, needs no introduction -- but they do need another lawyer. They're currently looking for a legal and business affairs counsel for NBA Properties.
As an NBA attorney, you'd handle media transactions, primarily focusing on global media distribution deals. They're looking for someone with a few years of firm or in-house experience.
3. Legal Counsel, Real Estate, Wendy's
Yep, that Wendy's, the fast food chain with the square burgers and red-headed mascot. Wendy's might not be the biggest chain around, and it might not be a fast food darling like In-n-Out or Shake Shack, but they do make a great Frosty. And you could be downing Frosties every day as Wendy's legal counsel.
Wendy's needs a real estate attorney to help handle its business deals. If you take the gig, you'd be working with the in-house legal department's real estate, franchise, and M&A teams on everything from contracts, to leases, to bills of sail, and condemnations.
