Stripper's Pole Dance Ruptured Man's Bladder at Bachelor Party
A Pennsylvania man is suing the Penthouse Club near Philadelphia claiming that a stripper ruptured his bladder.
Patrick Gallagher was celebrating his impending marriage at the club. As part of the Penthouse Club's "Bachelor's Package," Gallagher was invited onstage and told to lie down for some personal attention by the strippers.
But one stripper allegedly gave a bit too much attention to Gallagher when she slid down a stripper pole onto Gallagher's abdomen.
The stripper allegedly landed on Gallagher with such force, that she ruptured his bladder, reports the Philadelphia Daily News.
At the time, Gallagher did not realize the extent of his injuries. It was only the next morning that Gallagher went to a hospital and discovered that his bladder had burst. He also suffered internal bleeding and required surgery, reports the Daily News.
Gallagher is now suing the club for at least $50,000 for medical costs, pain, humiliation, and mental anguish related to the incident. It's not sure what percentage of the damages amount is for each injury, but my guess is that "humiliation" probably deserves the most compensation.
Surprisingly, Gallagher did not list damages related to loss of consortium or spousal abuse due to his (now married?) wife discovering how he was injured.
If the Penthouse Club in Philadelphia sounds familiar to you, that may be because the club is no stranger to legal trouble. Last year, seven dancers and a manager were arrested on prostitution charges. Other lawsuits against the club include beatings by bouncers, slip-and-fall injuries, overserving alcohol, and the unauthorized use of a woman's photographs in club advertisements, reports the Daily News.
Lawyers for the Penthouse Club must be making a small fortune defending the club. It's just not clear if the lawyers are being paid entirely in single dollar bills.
