1. They're Easy to Use, From a Trusted Source
FindLaw's updated California and New York codes sections bring you more than half a million pages of laws, all through our partnership with Thomson Reuters Westlaw, our sister company and the industry leader in legal research. Our free offerings go beyond just state codes, too. They include the New York Courts Acts, the California Water Code Appendix, and more -- resources that you can't find easily elsewhere.
And using these new codes is simple. Organization and navigation is improved, with a four-level drop down menu that lets you find exactly what you need quickly. It's easy to jump between state incorporation laws and sentencing procedures, for example, without getting lost along the way.
Here's how to use them:
1. Head over to FindLaw's California Codes or New York Codes section.
2. Select the code section you want to research, be it the California Financial Code or New York's elder laws.
3. Use the menu to find just what you need. California codes are organized by division, chapter, and section, all of which you can navigate through easily using the menus provided. New York codes are organized by article and section and just as simple to navigate.
The new drop down menus make it easier than ever to dig deep into the codes. When you click on a link with a grey arrow, all of the code sub-sections underneath that section open up on the same page. When a link doesn't have an arrow, that's as deep as you can go in a specific code section.
2. They're Mobile-Friendly
If you're stuck in L.A. traffic, taking the Metro-North up to Poughkeepsie, or waiting around the courthouse, you can still make use of FindLaw's new codes sections. They pages are optimized for mobile use, meaning they work just as well on your phone or tablet as they do on your P.C.
