Pygmy Goat Terrorizes Michigan Town
The small Michigan town of Ravenna is being terrorized by a pigmy goat, according to the Muskegon Chronicle. The horned critter escaped from a local livestock sale on Monday and has been wreaking havoc ever since.
The brazen runaway has turned to a life of crime, breaking a window at a local business. The "really tiny little pygmy goat with horns" was found at the scene of the crime, and has since been spotted running around the neighborhood.
Ted Stein, who owns that business along with wife Cheryl, believes the goat was confused and was actually going after its own reflection, explains the paper. He had seen the goat earlier in the day as it looked at the window and went, "Bah, bah."
Officers with the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department have gotten in on the goat catching act, but to no avail. A deputy went running after the fugitive, but the paper reports he was no match for the four-legged fiend. Cheryl was also unable to catch the vandal once it ran into some nearby fields.
The pygmy goat has been taunting the couple ever since.
If arrested, the goat may be charged with misdemeanor willful and malicious destruction of property. The crime carries a sentence of up to one year in prison and a $2,000 fine. That's steep.
But it's more likely the pygmy goat's owner will only have to pay the Steins about $300: The couple will need to replace their broken window, and that's the cost they quoted the paper.
